Compare the cost per serving of creatine, not per tub, and be wary of discounted gummies: independent US tests found several brands with little or none inside.

Creatine is one of the simplest supplements on the shelf, which makes its Black Friday prices oddly varied. Across the past offers we traced, powder cost from £1.95 to £6.00 per 100g, advertised discounts ran from 21% to 60% where one was given, and the 1kg tubs were the cheapest per gram.

It is not like for like. Ranges differ, from premium formulas to plain monohydrate, and some listings did not name the exact variant or the creatine per scoop, so check what each serving actually contains. The Creapure versus generic guide covers whether premium creatine is worth paying for.

The gummy problem

If creatine gummies turn up in a Black Friday sale, the discount is the least important number on the page. In 2024, the supplement maker NOW tested 12 brands of creatine gummies bought from Amazon and brand websites; five contained little to no creatine. In 2025, the supplement-tracking platform SuppCo bought six gummies on Amazon and found two with no creatine at all and two with under 1g per serving. Every powder it tested matched its label.

NOW suggested the creatine may break down into creatinine during gummy manufacturing, and pointed to creatine's instability in liquid formulations. Every failing product contained creatinine.

These were US products, so they say nothing directly about any UK brand. The lesson still travels: a gummy is only good value if the creatine is actually in it. Look for independent batch testing before letting a discount sway you.

A tub's weight tells you how much product you are buying. What you want to know is how many servings of creatine are inside. A 5g serving is used below only to compare prices; follow the directions on your product.

How long a Black Friday tub lasts

Bigger tubs win on price, but only if you finish them. At 5g a day, a 1kg tub started on Black Friday would last until mid-June 2027. A 250g tub would run out in mid-January, before most people have finished their Christmas chocolate.

For a daily user, that makes 1kg a sensible six-month stock-up. If you take creatine on and off, the smaller tub may still be the cheaper way to buy what you will actually use, despite its higher price per gram. Either way, check the best-before date.

What 2026 could look like

There is less creatine history to average, and the clearest signal is already in today's prices: Bulk's 1kg creatine was £24.99 in our catalogue on 4 October 2026, below what it cost in Bulk's 2024 sale.

Past creatine discounts ranged from 21% to 60%. At the top of that range, The Protein Works' £19.99 tub would come to about £8. Its past listing did not give a size and the range has since been renamed, so treat that as a rough guide.

Five ways to pay less than the sale price

The Black Friday price is not always the lowest you can pay. Before checking out, run through these five.

    Voucher codes. Sale codes often cover creatine as well as protein. Try each one you find and keep whichever gives the lowest total with delivery.

  2. 2

    Discounts for who you are. Myprotein, Bulk and The Protein Works all list extra discounts for students and Blue Light Card members, typically 5% to 20% off. Some stack with sale prices and some do not; the Myprotein, Bulk and Protein Works guides have the details.

  3. 3

    A different retailer. Creatine from the big brands is widely sold on Amazon and eBay, sometimes for less than on the brand's own site. Our creatine comparison and product pages show those listings where we track them.

  4. 4

    Clearance and short-dated stock. Short-dated creatine can undercut a Black Friday code. Our sales page tracks clearance deals; check the best-before date before you buy.

    Subscriptions. A subscription can lower the delivered price of an eligible creatine tub. Compare it with the best one-off code, including what repeat orders cost. Match the delivery interval to how long the tub lasts; a replacement arriving while you still have plenty left ties up money instead of saving it.

One refill, not a supplement haul

Creatine is cheap enough that a basket threshold can easily cost more than it saves. Bulk's 2025 extra code needed a £55 order, well above the price of a single tub. Add a refill to a whey order you were already planning, or buy it on its own.
