Enzymes are natural substances in the human body that are also involved in digestion and absorption of nutrients. All the enzymes in Vilgain Digestive Enzymes are obtained by extraction from plants or by fermentation processes of fungi that naturally produce these enzymes.

The enzymes are 100% plant‑derived and are obtained either by fermentation from mushrooms or, in the case of bromelain and papain , by extract from pineapple and papaya. Due to their plant origin, the enzymes have a wide active pH range and therefore act in different parts of the digestive tract.
